A Place of Relief in an Urban Taxi Rank
The Project aims to turn around the bad PR associated with taxi ranks by using the sacred invention of sanitation as its heart. Added to the public loo we have envisioned a variety of spaces supporting day-night
activity: an elevated transit-lounge, a food
shop, a car wash. The loo itself becomes an urban oasis, an open surveillance point, a safe and light-giving space. It it about place-making for longevity. Khululeka, a space to feel relief, at ease and to relax.
